Putting elements in order is one of the features of Designer mode. You can find a tutorial for each feature of Designer mode here.
In this tutorial you’ll learn:
What is the Order feature used for?
This feature allows you to play with the layers of your creation, to bring any element to the front or send it to the back.
Every time you add an element, a new layer is added to your canvas, meaning there are as many layers as there are elements on your canvas. It’s important to keep this in mind, as depth plays an important role in the design. The element at the back is the one you added first, while the last one you include on your canvas will be at the front.
You can check the list of elements in the Layers tab of Designer mode. In the list, each element is named by default according to its type.
How to order your elements
All you need to do is modify the order of the elements in the list you see in the Layers tab of Designer mode. Activate Designer mode using the keyboard shortcut CTRL/CMD + M, or by opening the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner of the Editor and clicking on Designer mode.
The first layer at the front corresponds to the first element on the list, and the last element is the one located at the very back. You can bring an element to the front by moving it up the list, or send it to the back by moving it down the list.
How to identify each element
Each element in the list is named by default according to its type. It is useful to rename the elements to make it easier for you to identify them. You can do this by double-clicking on the name and writing the new name.
