Turn your quizzes, breakouts, or learning journeys into much more exciting experiences with page passwords. You can lock one or more pages with a password and give your audience clues to help them unlock them. Just another way to surprise and engage with your content!
As well as the above use, page passwords will also be useful if you want to control who can see certain pages of your content.

How to put a password on a page
Follow these steps:
1. In the Editor, click on Pages and find the page you want to put the password on.
2. Click on the three dots you see next to the page, just below the wand.
3. Select Add password to page, enter the password in the window that appears and click on Ready to save changes.
4. A menu will then open on the right of the Editor where you can personalize the password screen, which is what your audience will see when they try to view the password protected page.
- Preview: This shows you what the password page will look like. Click on it to enlarge the image.
- Delete password: If you click on the bin icon in the top corner you will delete the page’s password.
- Password: In this box, you can change the password as many times as you like. Passwords cannot have more than 20 characters.
- Appearance: Here you can edit the colors of the password screen. In the Interface base color section, you can choose the color for the text and content of the page. And in the Background color section, you can edit the color of the background of the page.
- Text: In this space, you can add a title and a message to the password page, to give instructions or a clue, for example. The title can have up to 70 characters, and the message can have up to 40.
How to identify which pages have a password
In the Editor, click on Pages to see the thumbnails of the pages of your genially. If a page has a password, to the right of its thumbnail there will be a blue key icon. If there is no key icon, the page does not have a password.
How to change the password of a page
To change the password of a page:
1. In the Editor, click on Pages and then click on the key icon next to the thumbnail of the page. A menu will appear on the right side of the Editor, with the current configuration of the password.
2. Enter the new password and save the changes by clicking on the blue sticker in the top left of the Editor, as seen below.
How to remove a password from a page
To remove the password from a page:
1. In the Editor, click on Pages and then click on the key icon next to the thumbnail of the page. A menu will appear on the right side of the Editor, with the current configuration of the password.
2. Click on the bin icon in the top right-hand corner of the menu. To save changes, click on the blue sticker in the top left corner of the Editor.
